With 64 matches played between 32 countries within 28 days, it is sure to be a feast of football for fans around the world.
England will be participating in their 16th FIFA World Cup finals, with Gareth Southgate’s men looking to go one step further than they did in Russia in 2018. However, for them to reach their first World Cup final since 1966, they will have to navigate through 3 group games followed by potential games in the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and then the final itself. England’s World Cup 2022 qualifying fixtures & results
England qualified as one of 13 European nations from the UEFA World Cup qualifying stages. They finished as winners of Group I. They began their qualifying campaign with a 5-0 win against San Marino on March 25th, 2021 at Wembley Stadium. It ended with a 10-0 victory in San Marino on November 15th the same year.
With 39 goals scored across the 10 qualifying group games, and just 3 goals conceded, England’s performances on the road to Qatar were very impressive. They won 8 games and drew 2 games – both 1-1 draws against Poland and Hungary.

England’s Football World Cup 2022 Fixtures
The 2022 FIFA World Cup begins on Monday, November 21st, with four games taking place on that day. This will include England’s first Group B game against Iran.
Four days later (November 25th), they will face the United States of America. Their final group game will be against the winner of the UEFA Path A Play-Off, which will be decided in early June 2022. England’s final group game will see them play one of their rivals, Wales, in Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan on November 29th.

What fixtures will England play if they top the group?
If England were to successfully finish top of Group B, they would play the runner-up of Group A on December 4th in Al Khor.
Group A consists of Senegal, Ecuador, the Netherlands, and the hosts – Qatar.
What fixtures will England play if they come second (runner-up) in the group?
In the eventuality that England finish second in Group B, they would play the winner of Group A – Senegal, Ecuador, the Netherlands, or Qatar. This would take place at Khalifa International Stadium, Al Rayyan on December 3rd.
What is England’s route to the World Cup Final?
Looking for England’s route to the final? Well, beyond the round of 16 England could face the winner or runner-up of Group A, their route to the final depends on where England finishes in Group B.
Route 1: As Group B Winners
If England were to finish as Group B winners, they would face the runners-up of Group A on December 4th as match 51 of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The winner of match 51 will play the winner of match 52 in the quarter-finals on December 10th (match 59).
Match 52 will be contested between the winners of Group D (France, Denmark, Tunisia, and a yet to be a determined team from the AFC v CONMEBOL play-off) and the runner-up of Group C (Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland).
The winner of match 59 will take on the winner of match 60 on December 14th in the semi-finals.

Quarter-Finals: Match 51 winner vs Match 52 winner (Match 59 – December 10th @ 10pm GMT)

Route 2: As Group B Runners-Up
If England were to qualify as runners-up (second place) in Group B, they would face the winner of Group A on December 3rd. This would be “match 49” of the FIFA World Cup tournament.
The winner of match 49 will play the winner of match 50 in the quarter-finals on December 9th (match 57). Match 50 will be between the winners of Group C and the runners-up of Group D.
If successful, England’s semi-final will be against the winner of Match 58 on December 13th.

All four countries, Brazil, France, Germany, and Belgium, have qualified for the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
The earliest France could play England is in the Quarter Finals via winning Match 50 or 52 in the Round of 16. While Brazil, Germany and Belgium could face England in the second Semi-Finals, or even the World Cup final itself.
How can I watch England’s World Cup 2022 games on TV?
Due to the UK government including the World Cup Finals being on a mandated ‘protected’ list, it must be shown on free-to-air terrestrial television.
The BBC and ITV will share coverage of the FIFA World Cup on UK television. This means every World Cup match will be shown on either ITV or BBC this winter.
The Three Lions’ opening game against Iran and final Group B game will be broadcast on BBC. While ITV will broadcast their match against the USA.
ITV has been given the first and second picks of the round of 16 fixtures and the first choice of the quarter-final ties. The BBC have the option to pick which semi-final first. Both channels will broadcast the final.

Can England Win the 2022 FIFA World Cup?
As one of 32 qualified teams, England does have a chance of winning the FIFA World Cup in 2022. At the time of writing, England is currently fifth in the FIFA men’s ranking behind Brazil, Belgium, Argentina, and current World Cup holders France.
In addition, as the runners-up at the 2020 European Championships (Euro 2020) and semi-finalists at World Cup 2021, England is considered to be one of the favourites for the World Cup this winter.
Many bookmakers share the belief that England is one of the favourites with many listing them as the third favourite after Brazil and France.
What will be England’s World Cup 2022 kit?
At the time of writing, England has yet to reveal what their kit will be at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is believed it will be released in the coming months. Commonly, international kits have a two-year cycle, often to coincide with major tournaments, so it is expected England will be releasing new home and away kits for Qatar 2022. It is believed to be released in the late summer / early autumn of 2022.
In 2012, The English Football Association made an agreement with American-based sportswear manufacturer Nike to be its kit supplier for all 24 England teams based at St George’s Park in Burton Upon Trent. This includes the men’s senior side, as well as the women’s side, and various youth level teams. This deal was extended in 2016 and will be run until 2030.

The England World Cup 2022 home kit will be inspired by their Umbro-produced Euro 1996 jersey, incorporating navy and light blue into the classic white jersey. They also believe it will include a gradient design.

It is rumoured that England will return to a red away shirt for the FIFA 2022 World Cup. Since 2020, England’s away shirt has been blue.
It is believed that the England 2022 away kit will be red with navy and light blue details for the famous three lions crest and Nike logo. Officially, the colours are “Challenge Red/Blue Void/Blue Fury”.
